SJS Grad Student to Participate In Chemical Weapons Documentary Discussion
Jordan Mazurek, MSc Criminology & Criminal Justice, has been invited to participate in a social justice panel discussion featuring filmmaker Ben Evans and Kentucky Environmental Foundation founder Craig Williams at the premiere of a new documentary.
The premier screening of Nerve – How a Small Kentucky Town Led the Fight to Safely Dismantle the World’s Chemical Weapons will be held October 2, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the EKU Center for the Arts and will include event will include a special performance by Ben Sollee .
Nerve tells the story of how central and eastern Kentuckians mobilized a grassroots campaign that fought the military’s plans to incinerate over 500 tons of chemical weapons stockpiled in Madison County’s Blue Grass Army Depot and grew the successful global movement for safer chemical weapons disposal.
